Financial Planning

Take care of your money and it will take care of you.

Success in business means different things to different people but they all have one thing in common – acceptable financial performance.

Your financial plan sets out the financial results and implications of your strategy and business plan over a three to five year period. It clarifies the key financial drivers of the business and identifies critical performance references such as return on investment for the business overall and for new projects, investment payback, breakeven points, fixed and variable costs, margin, profitability etc.

In my experience, investors and bankers read the executive summary of your business plan and then go straight to the financials. Without robust financial projections your plan fails – Rob Grealis

Your financial plan is also the reference document for external stakeholders in the business – investors, banks, potential partners etc. These interested parties are unlikely to invest in your business unless you can demonstrate financial capacity – to repay loans, to return on equity investment, to generate sufficient cash flow to pay to terms etc.
